Flamengo confirmed their vacant spot in the Copa do Brasil final this Wednesday. The Rossoneri beat Grêmio again, this time 1-0, at the Maracanã.
The winning goal in Rio was scored by Arrascaeta. The Uruguayan spoke of the importance of the vacancy in the decision and played down the recent controversy.
“We want to achieve something this year. We are in the final. We know that when we win it is Flamengo, when we lose it is also Flamengo. We have already decided within the group. These things happen,” he said.

Arrascaeta spoke about the party, when the cast called coach Jorge Sampaoli. The midfielder said that everyone is united in favor of Flamengo.
“Both we and he try to give our best. Flamengo must be above everything. At the moment of the goal we demonstrate this, that the group is united, closed,” he declared.
Flamengo will face São Paulo under former coach Dorival Júnior in the Copa do Brasil decider. The finals are scheduled for 17 and 24 September, with terms yet to be determined by the CBF via drawing of lots.
