Originally from Nord-Pas-de-Calais, Danny Boon arrived in Paris in 1989, where he began performing on many open-air stages. Produced by Patrick Sebastien since 1993, the comedian gradually gained popularity among the audience, parallel to his film debut as an actor.

In 2003, Danny Boone wrote the screenplay The life of the construction objectwhich narrates the misadventures of the young owner of the palace, whose delivery is delayed due to the incompetence of the workers responsible for the site.
With no response from Claude Berry to whom he proposed, Danny Boone eventually turned it into a play. After seeing it on stage, Claude Berry reconsidered his decision and agreed to film it.
Danny Boone continued directing in 2005 to bring his play to the screen. The film, called La Maison du Bonheur, relies on effective situation comedy and a hilarious cast – from Danny Boon himself to Michel Laroque, via Zinedine Souallem and Laurent Gamelon – attracting 1.1 million French people to cinemas.
A convincing first effort for Danny Boone, who returns behind the camera after three years for Welcome to the Ch’tis, which became the biggest cinematic success in France with over 20 million releases at the box office.
