Zendaya has revealed that he only met Spider-Man co-star, Andrew Garfieldone day before filming the scene where Garfield’s Peter Parker saves MJ from falling off a building.
Garfield recently interviewed Zendaya for Variety, where the pair discussed their time working on ‘No Way Home.’ Recalling how the scene was the first the pair had filmed together, Zendaya said: “I met you yesterday. thanks for rescuing me“.

The pair also discussed how the scene was a reversal of fate for Gwen Stacy, the character played by Emma Stone, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Gwen fell to her death at the end of the 2014 film, with Garfield’s Peter heartbroken that he couldn’t save her. By catching MJ, her Spidey is able to correct her earlier mistake and absolve himself of the guilt of not being able to rescue her girlfriend, while allowing Holland’s Peter and MJ story to continue.
Describing his thoughts on the scene, Garfield said: “It’s about brotherhood“.
“I love the idea that maybe Tom’s Peter would have met the same fate as Andrew’s Peter if Andrew hadn’t somehow come into that universe and learned from past mistakes, and made sure that my little brother and their love would not have had the same fate“.
Garfield also praised Zendaya’s role as Rue in the season of hit HBO Max series ‘Euphoria’ in the interview, calling her performance “one of the most remarkable things I’ve seen an actor do in recent memory“.
At the moment Zendaya is shooting ‘Challengers’, under the orders of Luca Guadagnino and together with Josh O’Connor Y Mike Faist. Then he has pending to get with ‘Dune 2’, scheduled to be released in 2o23.
