Stranger Things: David Harbor says the ending will “do justice” to the characters

Amid the delays caused by the strikes in Hollywood, the long-awaited final season of Stranger things remains a topic of great anticipation. David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper on the Netflix series, provided an emotional look when he confirmed he received scripts for season 5 ahead of the writers’ strike and hinted the outcome will be “very moving.”

Harbor has also hinted that the fifth and final season will not pick up immediately after the events of the fourth season, which concluded with Max, played by Sadie Sink, in a coma and with the Upside Down infiltrating Hawkins.

“Following where season 4 ended — when you see us on the hill looking into the ash and smoke pits — we will pick up at some point after that,” she shared. “Therefore, you have to imagine the world is a different place.”

Also, the actor hinted that the last part of Stranger things will be the biggest ever, lauding series creators Matt and Ross Duffer.

They are amazing as usual. They continue to outdo each other, these Duffer brothers, who are currently on strike. It’s also quite a feat. I mean, the set-up scenes and the scripted stuff that we’ve seen is bigger than anything we’ve done in the past.

The fourth season of Stranger things premiered on Netflix in two parts in 2022, but the date for the fifth season still remains uncertain, as production cannot begin until the actors’ strike is resolved.

It’s going to take a while to shoot, which will be difficult since we can’t start yet, but that’s it. I’m excited to go back. I’m thrilled to wrap it all up in a bold and incredible way. I can’t wait to really delve into this character because you know they will live up to these original characters: Eleven, Hopper, Joyce, Will, Mike. They will reward them in a big way because they have been living with you for the last eight years.
