Percy Jackson is coming back to Disney+ soon! Check out the first teaser and release date

Ten years after Percy Jackson: The Sea of ​​Hours, the hero of children’s literature returns to the screens. Logan Lerman is making way for new actor Walker Scobell – who appeared in Netflix’s Adam Through Time – and the story is now taking shape as a series, which is set to debut on December 20.

“Percy Jackson, we’re waiting for you.” To announce the release date, the Disney+ platform also released a short teaser – only thirty seconds – with the very first images of the series. We discover the hero, but also his friends, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood, and a brief glimpse of some creatures.

Good news for fans: unlike the two film adaptations, the author of the original novels, Rick Riordan, is working closely with the platform to sign the first two episodes of the program.

The first season will follow the first volume, The Lightning ThiefIn 2009, it was already transferred to the screen by director Chris Columbus. The series, titled Percy Jackson and the Olympians, will follow “The adventures of a modern-day 12-year-old demigod, Percy Jackson, who has just come to terms with his newfound supernatural powers when the mighty Zeus accuses him of stealing a lightning bolt.
