Argentinos Juniors’ Luciano Sánchez had suffered a dislocated left knee and is due to be released from hospital this Tuesday

Luciano Sanchezdefender of Young Argentines who suffered a serious injury in a bid with Marcellus in a game for the round of 16 of the Cup of Liberatorswas operated on on Monday. According to the club, the athlete will be under observation and should be discharged on Tuesday.

“Player Luciano Sánchez was operated on for a traumatic dislocation of his left knee. Reconstruction of the ligament was carried out by the club’s medical team and repair of the peroneal nerve by Dr Mariano Socolovsky and his team. The patient will remain hospitalized for 24 hours and he will soon be discharged to continue his rehabilitation at home,” the club said in a statement.

The defender, who is expected to spend 10 to 12 months in recovery, has exonerated Marcelo from the blame. Luciano Sánchez said he received an apology from the Fluminense side and was serene about the course of his treatment.

“Marcelo called me and texted me to apologise. I know it wasn’t intentional. He said he felt bad and I learned he went to try and talk to me in the locker room. “I admired him as a player. And now I admire him as a person. I have nothing to complain about, he can be calm and I told him so” the defender said a few days after being injured. Remember the offer:

Due to his expulsion, Marcelo was suspended for three matches by Conmebol, as well as receiving a fine of approximately R $ 30,000. The full-back has already played one match, precisely against Argentino Juniors, and will miss Fluminense in the two matches against Olímpia-PAR, who eliminated Flamengo.
