Santos will go to Europe this week in search of reinforcements. The main objective is to unlock the negotiation with the Argentine midfielder Roberto Pereyra. Thus, the club’s technical coordinator, Alexandre Gallo, travels to meet the 32-year-old player and his representatives on Friday (25).
Even though Peixe has not received a negative opinion on the four-month deal, the Santos management understands that the chances of success are remote. He therefore sees in the meeting between the parties an opportunity to change the player’s mind and, thus, hit the eighth reinforcement only in this half of the season.
In the Old Continent, Gallo will present a video with the city and the traditional Pelé club, in an attempt to convince Pereyra. The midfielder, moreover, has always been one of Santos’ priorities in 2023. Enough to reach the requested figures, considered high by national standards. The obstacle to the agreement is the competition in the European market for the athlete, who is free on the market and gives priority to staying in Europe. But Pisces doesn’t give up.
Roberto Pereyra started his career at River Plate and moved to Udinese, from Italy, in the 2011/2012 season. He spent three years there before being loaned to Juventus. At the end of the second season he went to Watford, England. Four years later he returns to Udine. He had 36 games last season, with five goals and seven assists.
The player has also defended the Argentina national team, integrating the teams that participated in the Copa América in the 2015 and 2019 editions.
