Lucas Coutinho, 28, born and raised in the community of Tuiuti, in São Cristóvão, in the North Zone of Rio, of which Lucas is proud to bear the stage name, already known in the carioca funk scene as: DJ MUMU DO TUIUTI. Lucas started his steps as a DJ on his own, being able to consider him an autodidact in his musical career, also inspired by his cousin. DJ, Glauber da Mangueira.

Being familiar with percussion instruments and because he likes swing in music, rhythm, Mumu always liked to research and above all to take risks, that’s where he started mixing funk carioca rhythms with instruments like atabaques, agogôs, producing afrobeat, “Eu I already knew afrobeat from outside (abroad), here in Rio I had never heard it.” Mumu counts.
Making him one of the first DJs on the scene to popularize rhythm and bring his stamp to the center of his songs, you can identify his output without even reading the name, just by hearing his signature beat with the name “MUMU” in the middle of the song.

His diversified set has seduced not only the cariocas, but is also reaching the taste of the paulistas with Pagode da Negrole, an event that had its first edition in Rio de Janeiro last month, where the set was DJ MUMU has been a great success and his musicality will invade the soil of São Paulo and will be repeated in the next edition of the event which will take place on Sunday 13 August in São Paulo.
Mumu is a registered name and part of the popularization of Afrofunk and Aftobeat in the funk scene.
