Ahsoka on Disney+: Which other Star Wars series is a sequel?

As we know, all Star Wars performances are closely related, and the new series dedicated to Ahsoka Tano will not say otherwise! The show about Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan also makes its big debut on Disney+ this Wednesday, August 23rd, simulcasting the first two episodes of the program.

Not surprisingly, Ahsoka takes place in the same chronological universe (a few years after Return of the Jedi) as The Mandalorian and the Boba Fett book, in which the character has already appeared as Rosario Dawson.

But still little known to the general public from the Star Wars series, Ahsoka was created as a direct sequel. In an interview with Total Film magazine (via Screen ratioRosario Dawson revealed that show creator Dave Filoni envisioned Ahsoka as a sequel to the Star Wars: Rebels animated series.

Sometimes it’s hard to read things on the internet without knowing if they are real facts or fan made stuff. But I’m pretty sure Dave said this show is pretty much Rebels season 5. It was also nice to bond with these characters that he has a long history with.

Running from 2014 to 2018, the Star Wars Rebels animated series follows a crew of Rebels, including Jedi Kanan Jarrus and his apprentice Ezra Bridger, aboard the spaceship Ghost. A few familiar faces to fans will help them on their adventures, including Ahsoka Tano and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Years after the end of Rebel intrigue, Ahsoka resumes her work to lead the investigation of Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) with her allies Hera Syndula (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Sabine Ren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), while the dangerous shadow of Grande grows. Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), a former high official of the Empire.

Episodes of the Star Wars Ahsoka series can be seen every Wednesday exclusively on Disney+.
