Using a Japanese sword, physical therapist Alisson D’jean, also known as the “BH Samurai”, managed to fend off 3 men who were trying to steal bicycles in an apartment building in the Santo Antônio neighborhood in the south-central region of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.

The case took place on August 13, but the images went viral on social media last Friday.

Video from the building’s security cameras captures the moment Alisson and the warden make their way down the hall. At that moment Alisson walks towards the suspects holding a katana, a Japanese sword. The three manage to escape, leaving their bikes on the street. There were no injuries.

In a post on social networks, the “Samurai de BH” clarified that he does not own any of the bikes. He explained that he acted to prevent another theft, as it was the fourth such crime in the building.

“My concern wasn’t going back to bikes. I don’t even have a bike. I used it once 5, 6 years ago,” she said.

Although the resident’s reaction managed to prevent the theft, the Military Police advise not to react in situations of this type.
