It took eight for the sequel to Antigang to finally see the light of day. Now it’s done with Antigang: The Next Generation, commissioned by Disney+. Still directed by Benjamin Rocher, the film favors Alban Lenoir, who plays the lead role and thus finds the character of Neils Cartier.
Synopsis: A former legend of the anti-gang brigade, known for his muscular and unorthodox methods, Nils Cartier quits the police force after a botched intervention led to the death of his wife. When the gang of robbers responsible for his death reappears eight years later, Nils doesn’t let anyone get in his way of revenge. Even if it means that he has to create an explosive duet with his 14-year-old daughter, despite her strong temper…
A real action comedy, less dark than the first opus, Antigang: The Next Generation plays on the tandem formed by Niels and his daughter Charlotte-Serge (Cassiope Mayans). And just because there’s a 14-year-old girl in the movie doesn’t mean it’s action-free. On the contrary!
AlloCiné was able to go to the set of the film and spend two nights following Jérôme Gaspar, the film’s stunt coordinator and stunt double for Jean Reno. He showed us behind the scenes of the shoot, from preparing the mannequin he had to jump off the roof of a building with, to falling almost 20 meters!
