As ever, in this new academic year, Here Everything Begins decided to surprise and move to new and unexpected profiles for its new promo, which viewers will discover tonight at 18:30 on TF1.
Among the new characters in Season 4 are notably Jimmy (Loan Beckmont), Mark LeRoy’s eldest son, and, among others, the ex-military, who arrived last week perfectly, Berenice’s (Berenice Tannenberg), half-sister. Constance, who suffers from social phobia and school phobia, Malik (Oscar Al Hafiane), a young aspiring chef who has made up his mind to find love at the institute, or even Penelope (Lawrence Facelina), a thirty-something in transformation. Promising to bring fresh air, it all starts here and at Teyssier’s cooking school.
Penelope, the promotion’s outsider and loudmouth who won’t let it go
“Penelope, who is 35 years old, is in vocational training. Before that, she worked in communications, but she decided to leave everything to devote herself to her first passion, which is cooking. So she goes to the Auguste Armand institute to pass the entrance exam. Expertise and allow herself to achieve it”explains Lawrence Facelina when we met him on the set of the TF1 series last month.
Older than the other candidates or students of the Institute, Penelope will clearly not go unnoticed in Calvières. And this from the day when Tom (Tom Darmon) is surprised at his age, or when the chef who wants to retrain rebels against the excellent Emmanuel Teyssier (Benjamin Barochet).
“Obviously, Penelope knows she’s not the same age as the others and that sometimes she can be retarded.”Entrusts to Lawrence Facelina. “If it’s just the language, he often throws himself because there are terms he doesn’t know, but he gets it very well and he has a lot of self-mockery. There’s that little inconsistency, he is, but it’s kind of funny and it makes him does not cause discomfort”.
“As you will soon find out, Penelope doesn’t have her tongue in her pocket either, she doesn’t let herself go, so she will definitely notice and it will create interesting situations, especially with Chef Teyssier.”Continued Here it all starts with the newcomer, who already seems amused by Penelope’s frankness and the twists and turns that await her.
“I really like her very free side. She’s a woman who knows where she’s at, who’s not afraid to let it all go to live her passion. As an actress, that’s something that certainly speaks to me. And more than that. , I like Her rock side and her big mouth. She doesn’t let go, she says what’s on her mind. As I read the lyrics, I really liked that about Penelope.”.
Presented as an outsider to the new promotion, Penelope Becker is not “not the best” According to his interpreter in the kitchen, but still has what it takes to go through and pass the competition. A contest that also promises many surprises for fans of the series throughout the week.
When asked about the possibility of revisiting his character’s past or exploring the darker aspects of his personality, Laurence Facellina is pleased “maybe” As an answer, for fear of saying too much, but in any case, the birth of a wonderful friendship at the institute in the following episodes.
“Penelope will become friends with Leticia Rigo. They will have a very good friendship. Also with other characters, of course among young people, but I recommend you watch the series to find out who it is”.
Who is Laurence Facelina, Penelope’s translator?
Trained at the Cours Florentine, Lawrence Facellina made his debut as an actor on stage before abandoning the theater for a while in favor of television and film. “For three or four years, I worked in many theaters. Then came films and TV series. For a while, I shot more for television and cinema, which doesn’t bother me”Admits the one we saw in tandem, Le Furet, he already has your eyes, king or honorary citizen.
Before landing the role of Penelope, Lawrence Facellina auditioned for another character on This Is Where It All Begins, but claims she has no regrets because the role in Thirty Men was made for her with cash and passionate training: “I had already gone through the casting process for the character, but in the end I’m very glad I didn’t, because Penelope belongs to me better. The production did not disappoint me. When casting characters, I think that ‘they are’ is rarely wrong”.

Peggy Pasquero, Here It All Begins casting director, is also no stranger to Lawrence Facelina, who collaborated with her on the casting phases before finally considering the role of Penelope.
“I knew Peggy a little because I sometimes helped her with castings”Penelope’s interpreter explains. “I was pitching to a few actors who were trying out. And I was delighted that Peggy offered me this role, which is really great.”.
A character Lawrence Facelina is looking forward to “follow me for a while” and its development in the course of intrigues. A first for the actor, who has never had a recurring role on television.
