Hortense fakes Souleymane’s superiority to Leonard’s detriment
Hortense apologizes to Mark. She promises him that she will let him express her feelings in her video diary, but he doesn’t think so. He then tries to get Leroy to admit that he was unfair to Malik and Penelope, but the chef refuses.
Mark reminds Hortense that the first test of the competition was about handling pressure, urgency and surprise. And when he gave them a second chance, the two candidates couldn’t tell him how to improve the dishes. He says if Malik and Penelope crack under the pressure now, it will be worse after the exams or double shooting. Leroy believes that the role of teachers is to select those who are made for the job. Hortense proves him right.
In turn, Antoine apologizes to Suleiman. She admits that she was rude to him and tells her son that she is proud of him and doesn’t want to get in his way. Antoine finally realized that Suleiman had found his way.
At Teyssiers, while Emmanuel is having breakfast, Berenia tries to leave the house, but to no avail. Teissier urges his daughter-in-law to eat something before her second test, then questions the young woman about her stress and distance learning in high school. Berenia tries to express herself in front of the director of the institute, who does not waste a single moment to humiliate her and prove that the pressure and stress will be even worse here.
Later, Berenice meets Carla in the dressing room and the two young women get to know each other better, after a somewhat rocky start the day before. During the conversation, Berenia tells Carla that she is Teysier’s sister-in-law. Carla thinks she’ll have the upper hand during the competition, but Berenice immediately stops her: she won’t, because Tessier hates her. He then tells his new friend about the discussion he just had with Tessier, who told him that he was spoiled and shameless and that he was going to skip the competition.
The moment of the second test is coming. Clotilda announces to the candidates that they will have to prepare a dish from two randomly selected ingredients. Hortense is the draw. When it’s Suleiman’s turn, he sees that his protégé is about to fall to a kidney, and carefully drops the card to give it to another so he can land a more favorable hand. Instead of Suleiman, Leonard falls for a kidney, which he must combine with kaffir lime.
During the ordeal, Teissier proves to be true to himself. After doubting the simplicity of Jimmy’s recipe, he attacks Berenica again, pushing her to the limit, emphasizing her stress, lack of technique, and courage. The young woman is getting more and more nervous and losing her abilities. Before Carla got under his eye.
Meanwhile, Hortense is worried about Leonardo, who still hasn’t started his recipe. He tries to make Leroy understand that the combination Leonardo made is simply not possible and that he is at a disadvantage. But Mark refuses to offer Leonardo preferential treatment. He thinks that if he is smart, he will come up with a dish.
After the discussion, Antoine announces the results of the second round. Carla, Berenica, Jimmy and Suleiman are selected to take the third and final test. Unfortunately, Leonard is recalibrated with a spot close and blames the hit. Salome, Maya and Hortense try to cheer him up, in vain.
A little later, in the dressing room, Carla surprises Berenice with tears. Constance’s half-sister explains that she has a school phobia and is haunted by old demons. He can’t stand being surrounded by people or being watched. Berenice wants to drop everything and go, but Carla promises her that she has a place at the institute and feels she was made for cooking.
Clotilda comes to congratulate Hortense on her choice of tests and the way she supervises the candidates during the competition. He adds that he finds it very professional. Out of remorse, Hortense ends up confessing to Chef Armand that she supported Suleiman to Leonardo’s detriment. Clotilde doesn’t believe it. He is afraid of affecting the Institute if it is revealed, and tells Hortense that he is not sure that he still has his place at the Institute.
Rumors spread about Teyssier and Anais
Salome confronts Anais about her relationship with Teyssier. He knows that the chef and his best friend are secretly seeing and texting each other. Salome then informs Anais that she is not the only one who has noticed their closeness and that rumors are starting to spread at the Institute. Anais assures Salome that she has no relationship with Teyssier, and then vows to explain everything to her as soon as possible.
Anais goes to meet Teissier in Institute Park. After making sure she didn’t have any new sclerosis, she tells him about the rumors about them. Obviously, Teyssier doesn’t care at all, but Anais admits to him that she’s tired of cheating on Salome. He wants to be able to trust her, which Tessier refuses. However, Anais refuses to let go. She explains to Tessier that she doesn’t want the whole story to tarnish her reputation or her friendship with her best friend. So she asks him to find a way out.
Finally, Teissier decides to dot Salome’s i’s. He explains to her that he’s not sleeping with Anais, before insisting that Anais is helping him prepare the menu for a surprise wedding anniversary he’s throwing for Constance. So Salome leaves to apologize after her best friend, who even offers to help with the menu. Anais is embarrassed to deceive Salome again.
