Started in 2014 by Antoine Fuqua and Denzel Washington, the Equalizer saga concludes with the 3rd opus, which arrives on August 30th. In connection with the release of the film, the film director Antoine Fuqua gave us an interview. The director talks about his fruitful collaboration with Denzel Washington in the video above.
For this episode 4, we find Robert McCall, the ruthless vigilante. After giving up his life as a government assassin, a man struggles to come to terms with the demons of his past and finds strange solace in standing up for the downtrodden.
While he finds a haven of peace in southern Italy, he discovers that his friends are under the control of the local mafia. When events take a deadly turn, McCall knows what to do: protect his friends by confronting the mob.
68-year-old Denzel Washington wants to prove that he still has some under the pedal, like Liam Neeson, who continues to make action movies despite the spring of 71. The first two episodes, released in 2014 and 2018, grossed a cumulative $400 million worldwide. In France, success was moderate, attracting 1.5 million action fans across the two films.
For this fourth installment, Dakota Fanning finds Denzel Washington, 20 years after their collaboration in Tony Scott’s Man on Fire. The Equalizer 3 hits theaters on August 30.
