The 6th season of The Good Doctor, broadcast every Wednesday night on TF1, is off to a flying start. While celebrating the wedding of Sean (Freddie Highmore) and Leah (Paige Spara) at the hospital, Dr. Lim (Christina Chang) and Nurse Villanueva are stabbed by the latter’s ex.

Fortunately, the doctors were able to find them in time, and Sean performed a dangerous operation to save Audrey Lim’s life, against the advice of her mentor Glassman (Richard Schiff).

But when he woke up, at the end of the first episode, he found that both legs were paralyzed. Complications from his two surgeries that might not have happened if Shawn had listened to Glassman’s recommendations.

In the second episode of Season 6, which airs Wednesday, August 23 on TF1, Lim returns to hospital after spending three months in rehab. He seems to have come to terms with the idea that he is now in a wheelchair and is looking for solutions to continue operating on patients. Unfortunately, she is still angry at Sean, whom she holds responsible for her disability.

Will Audrey Lim be able to walk again?

The recovery of the character played by Christina Chang and her acceptance of her paralysis will be one of the red threads of season 6 of The Good Doctor. The surgeon will really have to learn to live with his disability and come to terms with the fact that his life will never be the same. But does this mean Lim will remain paralyzed? As with any self-respecting drama series, the Doctor’s new state of health will not be permanent.

After an argument with Lim, Sean, very angry with himself, begins to search for a way that will allow him to walk again. In episode 5, he discovers that Lim’s paralysis is related to a spinal deformity, not a spinal cord injury. So he and Glassman find a way to make the Doctor walk again.

But Audrey Lim is terrified by the idea of ​​returning to her old life and initially refuses to undergo another operation. She has indeed finally found love in the arms of Clay, who is also in a wheelchair. She was afraid that her surgery would affect her romantic relationship.

In the end, it is her boyfriend who convinces her to have the surgery. To reassure her and promise that he really wants to build a future with her, he goes so far as to ask her to marry him. At the end of The Good Doctor Season 6 Episode 9, Lim undergoes his new surgery that allows him to walk again.
