The Norwegian will suffer a drop in the standings after the surprise defeat from Asia

Fifth best in the world and current runner-up, Norwegian Casper Ruud was eliminated Wednesday evening in the second round of the US Open, the fourth and last Grand Slam of the season.
The Nordic was defeated by 3 sets to 2 by the Chinese Zhizhen Zhang, 67 and 26 years old, with partials of 6/4 5/7 6/2 0/6 6/2 after 3h18min in the GrandStand court in Flushing Meadows, in New York.
This is Zhang’s second win in five matches against top-10 players and Ruud will drop a total of 1,155 points (add 45 and discard 1,200) as he currently drops to ninth in the ATP rankings.
Zhang will face Australian Rinki Hijikata in the third round.
