Last month, the sexiest lawyer on the US West Coast returned to our screens. Netflix chose to split Season 2 into two parts, a strategy it uses for its big productions. Evidence that the court series is one of the streaming platform’s boxes.
So it is not surprising to know this Netflix has been updated La Défense Lincoln for season 3. The announcement comes amid a strike by writers and actors in Hollywood, halting all filming. Consequently, the teams are currently not allowed to go ahead with this sequel, which could hit our screens in late 2024 or even 2025 if things continue on the other side of the Atlantic.
As we explained in this article, The Lincoln Defense Season 3 will be adapted from the fifth book in Mickey Haller’s series, Gods of Judgment, written by Michael Connelly, which is summarized here:
Attorney Mickey Haller is at the bottom. He failed in the prosecutor’s election, his ex left him, his daughter no longer talks to him, except for reprimands. One day, he receives a text message from an assistant: Call me – 187. With 187 as the code for “murder”, Haller knows he will have to re-mobilize to protect the accused. But the victim, Gloria Dayton, is a prostitute who Mickey loved dearly and who he believes helped him get back on track.
Finding out that she tricked him into continuing to prostitute herself and imagining that she might be the one who put him in danger quickly puts the pressure on her. Not to mention that some would-be law enforcement officials are outraged by Haller’s meddling in their business. Haunted by the ghosts of the past, the lawyer will have to work tirelessly and use all his talents to solve the case.
Actors Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Becky Newton and Angus Sampson should logically return for La Défense Lincoln season 3. It remains to be seen if Nevi Campbell will sign on for the sequel as her character has decided to leave town…
