Trailer Saltburn: Euphoria stars in a thriller that promises heat

Imagine the bourgeois world of Brideshead Revisited, the warmth of Call Me by Your Name and the obsession of the talented Mr. Ripley, all rolled into one movie. This is how we could imagine Emerald Fennel’s new film Saltburn. Three years after The Promising Young Woman – winner of the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay – the director returns with the story “depravity“, as he explains In a Vanity Fair article.

The story takes place in the mid-2000s and follows Oliver Quick, a student at Oxford University who is deeply interested in the aristocratic world to which his classmate, Felix Cato, belongs. The latter invites Oliver to Saltburn, his family’s luxurious estate, where they spend an “unforgettable summer” together.

The trailer images hint at a film of great visual beauty and tone that promises to be as spicy as the promising young woman. Starring Barry Keoghan – who was noticed by the director thanks to his terrifying role in The Killing of a Sacred Deer – Jacob Ellord, the star of Euphoria, as well as Rosamund Pike and Richard E. Grant.

Saltburn will premiere at the 67th London Film Festival (BFI) on October 4th and will be released in the US on November 24th. In France, Saltburn will be released directly on the Prime Video platform in late 2023.
