Will Real Smile have a new season?
Originally created and broadcast by South Korean broadcaster TVING, Real Smile is not a Netflix production, it is only rebroadcast by the video streaming giant. The American magazine Ready Steady Cut has published a review in which it believes that there may not be a renewal of Sorriso Real due to the many stereotypical references to the culture of other countries, such as the scene that portrayed a character of Arab origin with a certain tone from the humor.
Criticized on social networks by many viewers who watched the series, the Arab scene caused the production to lose audience in some countries, which culminated in a low rating of the series on specialized sites such as IMDB, causing ‘Real Smile’ to reach only 3.2 points and only 19% approval on Rotten Tomatoes.
True smile, the story
Royal Smile (The King The Land, in English) is a South Korean romantic comedy series that tells the story of Goo Won (Lee Jun-Ho), a rich and arrogant heir, and Cheon Sa-rang (YoonA), an employee of the the Hotel King, known for its honest smile. Won is a cold and calculating businessman who believes a smile is a sign of deception. Sa-rang, on the other hand, is a cheerful and outgoing woman who believes that a smile is a way to express happiness.
The series explores themes such as the power of love, the importance of friendship and the need to be faithful to others.
