A short film produced by and starring a USP graduate student will be honored at a queer film festival in the United States. Inside was produced completely independently and will be screened at their second festival.
Inspired by the narrative style of the film Tree of Lifeby director Terrence Malick, the short film Inside stitches together the internal thought flows of the character Bruno, played by Thiago. This stitching is done to denounce the psychological violence typical of abusive relationships.
The entire film takes place inside a mansion, conveying the suffocating feeling of a person who finds himself trapped in the seemingly dead-end situation of a toxic relationship. Narcissistic relationships and psychological violence in relationships have been hot topics in current debates in the LGBTQIAPN+ community.
The film Inside was very melancholy and dense, tiring to make, due to the problem of dealing with the issues of abuse and domination, manipulation, and issues related to deviations and personality disorders such as narcissism and psychopathy (or antisocial personality disorder personality) and the destruction of victims included in this report. It was a delicate experience of production, life and acting.

According to Thiago Camacho, the recognition of the production company’s work at an overseas festival bodes well that Brazil too will embrace independent investment in culture, according to information from the USP Journal.
We have never received support from anywhere, I am a PhD student at USP, a public servant and all this work was done with my private patronage. So, being rewarded, appreciated and recognized abroad makes us very happy and confident that our country embraces culture, recognizes and supports its hardworking artists and makers, which help promote identity and culture in our country.

a version of Inside with censorship and indicative rating of 16 years can be seen on YouTube. The full version of the film is available for rental and purchase on the Vimeo platform.
The Merced Queer Film Festival is an initiative of American gay filmmaker and activist Robert Jerome Pagan. The event will be part of the local LGBTQIAPN+ Pride Party.
The post-Brazilian short will premiere at a queer film festival in the United States and first appeared on Olhar Digital.
