The British newspaper ‘Daily Mail’ reported on Wednesday that the Football Association, the main entity in English football, has dreams of signing Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola of Spain to take charge of the national team after Euro 2024. The representatives hope the Current manager, Gareth Southgate, is stepping down after the tournament and not going to the 2026 Cup.
The work with the current coach has been criticized for the lack of good results. In 2021, the team took second place in the same European Cup and, the following year, fell to France in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar. Hired at the helm of the national team in September 2016, after the departure of Sam Allardyce, the former Crystal Palace and Aston Villa player has never really convinced the fans and could leave after the dispute in the continental competition.

The trend is that the focus will remain the same for the current season, but the FA plans to “measure the waters” for an international arrival.
In seven years in charge of the Citizens, Pep won the Premier League five times. In addition, he has eight other national trophies on his resume, as well as winning the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup in 2023.
