The President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), congratulated Judge José Afrânio Vilela, of the Court of Justice of Minas Gerais, for his appointment to the Superior Court of Justice (STJ). Afrânio Vilela was one of two judges nominated by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) to the STJ this Wednesday 6. Afrânio Vilela is nominated as a Pacheco sponsored name for the STJ.
“I leave here my congratulations to Judge José Afrânio Vilela, of Minas Gerais, for his appointment to the post of Minister of the STJ, confirmed this Wednesday. I am sure that all the legal community of Minas Gerais will be strengthened with the name of the scale of the judge ‘ Pacheco said on social media.
The judge and future minister of the STJ is 62 years old and was born in Ibiá (MG). A graduate of the Federal University of Uberlândia, he has been a judge since 2005 and has appeared on other occasions in the lists of the STJ.
In addition to Afrânio Vilela, Judge Teodoro Silva Santos of the Ceará Court of Justice was also nominated as a member of the STJ, considered a sponsor of the former governor and current Minister of Education, Camilo Santana (PT).
