Tonight on TV: The film is 342 minutes long, but that’s the version its director wants viewers to remember

After Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Zack Snyder takes on the Justice League. However, the production of the film is chaotic and while it is in full post-production, the director resigns after the death of his daughter.

This is Joss Whedon, who is hired to complete the film’s cut in the non-credits. Consequently, the changes that followed were not the original director’s, and the film that was released – widely criticized – ended up being someone else’s. That’s why the latter returned to finally edit the film in his own way – and successfully.

In Zack Snyder’s Justice League, determined that Superman’s ultimate sacrifice will not be in vain, Bruce Wayne, with the help of Diana Prince, summons a team of metahumans to protect the world from an imminent threat of catastrophic proportions.

Once assembled – not too hard – Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash must now face the fearsome Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid…

Zack Snyder’s Justice League – more commonly referred to as the “Snyder Cut” – is therefore the version of Justice League that Zack Snyder really wanted to make, the version that cost an extra $70 million so he could complete the visual effects, music and editing.

The project, which premiered on HBO Max in the United States on March 18, 2021, is the fifth film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and the fourth most-streamed film on the platform that year.

Considered to be far superior to the 2017 version, critics praised its direction, visual style, action sequences, performances, improved character backstories, musical score, and Snyder’s balance between emotion and humor.

More human, more structured and more epic, it’s from this version Zack Snyder Wants to Remember – a 4 hour and 2 minute monster version full of action, heart and emotion that lives up to its original vision. History will surely remember this Justice League.
