When asked if there is a post-credits scene at the end of the One Piece series, the answer is: yes.
Yes, because now the movies and series that don’t offer them are rarer than the ones that do, because of Marvel’s habit of including bonus scenes in the credits of their movies. But what does One Piece’s post-credits scene contain?
Honestly, not much, at least at first glance, as this short series features a man seen from behind, two cigars in hand (!), and Luffy’s wanted poster in front of him. In a cloud of smoke, the latter sticks a cigarette butt on the poster, burning the face of the Straw Hat crew leader.
For neophyte viewers who have never read the One Piece manga (105 volumes are available from GlĂ©nat) and haven’t seen the animated adaptation, this extra scene will do little to inspire. While hardcore fans of the original work certainly jumped off the couch when they discovered this teaser of the iconic character!
Our colleagues were questioned varietySeries showrunner Steven Maeda still decided to keep the character’s identity a secret: “I don’t want to confirm or deny anything at this point. I think it’s a cool mystery and it should keep people guessing or trying to figure out what’s going on.”
However, this post-credits scene confirms that a second season, provided it is officially ordered by Netflix, will certainly introduce Captain Smoker, a naval officer. Especially massive, the latter remained in the memory of fans both because of the excessive power and the habit of smoking two cigars at the same time!

In the manga’s chronology, Smoker is indeed the next on the list of opponents that the Straw Hat crew will cross paths with. Shot from behind like this, Smoker does not reveal his interpreter, who will be chosen only on the condition that a second season will see the light of day.
