Following the 1990s TV series and two movies that recently hit theaters, Disney+ is reviving the brand with a ten-episode feature series. The entire program will focus on one story, five high school students who investigate Harold Biddle, a student who mysteriously died 30 years earlier.

The first trailer released by the Disney+ platform suggests a tone and style that was quite different from the two films, which were aimed more at family audiences.
Author RL Stine is not attached to this new project. The cast includes Justin Long, Anna Y Puig, Miles McKenna, Will Price, Zach Morris and Issa Briones.
The first five episodes of the series will be available on Disney+ on Friday, October 13. The other five will be released weekly.
