After 10 seasons and 94 episodes, Kendall Renoir reinvents himself. Bye bye Sète for the heroine, who has been camped by Cecil Boas since 2013, and Hello Unknown, who will take the form of a festive TV movie event in Corsica until season 11, recently announced by France 2, who is due to see the story in Marseille.
The end of the tenth season, which airs this evening, closes an important chapter in the detective series and ends with Antoine (Raphael Langley) ‘s “marriage proposal” after years of dog-cat relationship and obstacles with Candy.
“I’m very happy with how it ended”Cecil Boyce told us a few weeks ago. “It was Solein Roy-Pegeno who wrote the finale, at my request, because it was he who started the series with Caroline Lassa. He asked me what I wanted and I answered.” We never talked about Brassens. And there’s a song that’s stuck in the back and that’s very true to Candice, it’s ‘I have the honor of not asking for your hand’ “.
“And all of a sudden he turned it into a proposition. I’m pretty proud of this little idea where we end up with a happy ending, but still with the DNA of the series, which is ‘it looks like the others, but it’s not quite so.’.
“I wanted to have a positive ending for the 10th season, no matter what the fate of the next series”Recognizes Fabien Faco, director of the Kendall Renoir collection. “I did not want to die. So we tried to give each character a future. We see Candace and Antoine’s car going on the road, we hear they are heading towards their future. But we wanted each character to have one after the other.”.
This end, which is not really the end, thus opens up to Corsican unity, conceived as a “Epilogue” By production and authors and who will tell you “Month of non-honeymoon” By Candice and Antoine. With many turns.

We headed to Corsica on May 18, and more specifically to the five-star Hotel Marinka in Olmetto, in the Vitricella district, where Candy Renoir crews spent several days building cameras to shoot multiple scenes from the first TV movie. The series is titled “Everybody Took Water to Their Mill” and was written by Agate Robillar and Fabien Faco.
Directed by Pascal Lahmann, who is a regular contributor to the series, this 90-minute section tells the story of Antoine and Candice’s weekend stays at a magnificent hotel on the Corsican coast with turquoise waters. A true postcard environment, this idyllic environment offers a dream stay for our favorite cop duo. And the first series we see, which sees Candice and Antoine discover their luxurious suite with a Jacuzzi on the terrace and a sea view, as far as the eye can see, in no way disproves this impression.
But Kendall Renoir obliges, everything turns into a comedy and a storm. As soon as she arrives, Candace stands out with her beautiful floral dress and fuss of laughter, perhaps a little extra? Candice goes to the beach, Antoine in their room. Antoine, who worries about not seeing his beloved, goes downstairs and finds him at the bar with Orso, a sympathetic Corsican. Captain Dumas is heavily involved in releasing anyone who takes him for a flirtation. And Tony does not long rise between the two men holding hands.
The next day everyone dies and takes his positions. So Antoine and Candace pack their bags and decide to end their honeymoon. But when Candace opens the trunk of their car, she just as sharply closes it and goes at top speed. A few miles away, he stops in an empty space and goes to open the trunk to show Antoine what it contains: the lifeless body of Orsos.
This is the starting point of this TV movie, which will then turn into a road movie, in an atmosphere that some like to travel hot and very bad. “Non-Honeymoon Month will turn into an adventure comedy, with lots of twists and turns, with strong potential for situational comedy”Explains Rafael Langley between the two scenes. “We’ll touch on a bit of tribute comedy. The sliders are purposefully pushed into the ’70s and’ 80s-inspired adventure comedy..

With us on the set of this special episode, collection director Fabien Faco confirms the strong influence of 1970s and 1980s films on the script. “We thought of it as an adventure film against the backdrop of 70s films by Jean-Paul Rapeno or Philippe de Broca. The first time I wrote an adventure comedy, it was wonderful. We were particularly inspired by the escape scene, where Jean Carmett, who plays a veterinarian, has a Depardieu stitch..
Far from Seth and their accomplices Valentine, Mehdi, Ishmael, or even Natalie, who do not appear in this TV movie, Candice and Antoine still find themselves with a somewhat special investigation into the weapons that directly affect them. Because who says Candy Renoir inevitably says police intrigue, even on vacation.
“Obviously, this whole story should have been investigated”Explains Carol Le Berry, France Télévisions Program Advisor. “We do not know if they can fall in love with each other without the adrenaline of a police officer who opposes them and who leads them. The end of idyllic but empty days, we realize that it is difficult for them (laughs.).
“The idea is to offer a real gift to the viewer. Those who are fans of the series, but maybe a few others. Because you can watch a TV movie as an independent comedy”. The release date for France 2 has not yet been revealed for this section, which counts among the guests are Matthew Maddenian and Josephine Dry (Heart Plan).
But Cecil Boyce promises that the patience of the fans will be rewarded: “I told the producer that with the environmental news, and especially after Covid, people should be offered what they expected while watching Kendall Renoir. I thought it was necessary to bet on comedy and the screenwriters exceeded my expectations. Goes very, very strongly “.
We will meet in the coming months to discover the very poor Corsican journey of Candace and Antoine. Ahead of a potential second half with a Halloween atmosphere and a still very mysterious season 11.
