Replay – Jean Dujardin opens the Rugby World Cup

Two years of work, 240 volunteers, 33 personalities… and Jean Dujardin at the helm of the show, written with designer Olivier Ferraci and director Nora Mathé. The 10th Rugby League World Cup opened tonight at the Stade de France with a friendly and good-natured show that celebrates the art of French living with (too) many irreverent clichés.

As Jean Michel, a baker who distributes oval loaves (rugby obligee), Jean Dujardin Crosses the small village of Ovalier, which is waking up, where we meet chefs, artisans, perfumers, musicians, dancers, acrobats, a policeman, a model, a photographer, a rooster… and a costume designer who will make your heart drop. Our hero in Gapet. For about twenty minutes, this little world comes to life, while the spirit and sense of community of rugby makes it possible to recover a cap accidentally knocked off by the wind.

Among the personalities present, viewers will recognize Philippe Lachaux, star dancer Alice Renavand, Joël Depucci (Les Petits Mouchoirs), Vian, ZAZ, Adriana Carembeau, Yann Artus-Bertrand, chefs Guy Savoy and Yves Camdebord, the narrator of these pictures. from Epinal, a very lively Gali village (“It goes in every direction, you see” says a journalist from TF1), which expresses – beyond the clichés – the genuine sincerity and festive spirit that inhabits the world of the Oval.

The highlight of this ceremony will undoubtedly remain the flight Jean DujardinCarried by cables to the top of the huge Eiffel Tower in the middle of the stadium, to the applause of the public. An even stronger memory than the 2012 Oscar for Best Actor? You’d have to ask him, but it’s very possible for the Oval ball lover, a former player in his youth and close to the French XV today.

The 10th Rugby League World Cup will be held in nine French cities from September 8 to October 28. Go Blues!
