Iconic laugh: Benoit Poelvoorde and Gerard Lanvin face off, these 5 minutes were too long for a journalist

We are in April 2002. Even if Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra has already sold out and attracted more than 14 million viewers in French cinemas, another comedy aimed at the general public will be released in cinemas.

It’s Le Boulet, directed by Alain Berberian and Frédéric Forestier, starring a duo of actors who have never played opposite each other before: the mischievous and funny Benoît Polvorde and the charismatic Gerard Lanvin. The latter plays Moltes, a prisoner about to be released from prison, who has a habit of playing the lottery every week and entrusting his ballots to his bodyguard Reggio, played by Poelvoorde.

But on the day Moltes finally draws the winning number, Reggio’s wife accidentally takes the prized ticket while traveling to Africa to participate in a rally. Believing that the jailer has overtaken him, Moltes escapes and gives him a little trouble, determined to drag him like a ball and chain into the middle of the desert to get his money back.

(Benoît Poelvoorde is also preparing to return to action in the sequel to another famous comedy)

Very friendly, really funny and by this particularly effective duo (as we can find in The Goat or Guardian Angels), Le Boulet attracted more than 3 million viewers when it was released in cinemas.

Perhaps the latter was also convinced by the interview given to the two actors, which is a very unintentional proof of the joy and good humor that existed between them on the set.

Indeed, invited to the Swiss TV news RTS, in front of the anchor Gaëlle Lavidière, Benoit Poelvorde and Gérard Lanvin burst into an irrepressible and contagious laugh, which we recommend you (re)discover below.

From the very first seconds of the interview, when the journalist questions the two actors about the directions of their film, the latter is already struggling not to break down while enjoying the sushi brought by the producer.

As you can see by watching the video, which lasts more than 5 minutes, Gerard Lanvin takes some time to regain his seriousness, which is constantly revived in laughter by the jokes of the person next to him.

In the middle of the interview, the journalist still manages to find the thread of his questions, and the burst of laughter seems to have passed. But stay tuned to the end of the video, because in the last seconds of the interview, the host makes the mistake of wanting to show the weather: a real balancing act against Polvorde and Lanvin, who again lose their seriousness in a second. fingers.

In short! A true anthology moment to be savored without moderation to make you smile before rediscovering Le Boulet…
