Regularized at the IDB, a couple of foreigners from Santos try to fit into the starting lineup

The long time away from official matches is a negative factor

Recently hired by Santos, the foreigners Alfredo Morelos and Maximiliano Silvera were regularized in the CBF Daily Newsletter (BID) this Friday (8). After a long period of absence, the players will try to regain their best physical form in order to fight for a place in the Peixe starting line-up.

Since the season in Mexico and Scotland, the countries where the athletes played, was different, the Alvinegro Praiano reinforcements had been out of action for a long time.

While center forward Morelos has not played since May this year, forward Maximiliano Silvera has not played a professional match since April 2023.

In addition to the two, free on the market, Santos has the case of another player who has spent a long period without playing. Right back Júnior Caiçara, who had not played since January this year, has been trying to get into top fitness to support the club and could get some minutes on the pitch against América-MG.

Santos’ next match will be against Cruzeiro, in Vila Belmiro, at 7pm (Brasilia time). Against the clock, the attackers struggled to adapt in order to make their debut for the Vila Belmiro club. However, for now there is no expectation that players will arrive and take positions among the starters.
