“Well, in the name of Thespis, it wasn’t gambling at all, please! I felt like I had experience with it. What happened to me… I was the first actor to wake up one morning after someone posted a montage of me breaking down and raging, from various movies. I think the title was ‘Nicolas Cage Loses His Fear’. And then, overnight, it went viral all over the world, and I was looking at it and thinking, what’s happening to me?“
The actor added that the video “continued to grow exponentially” and there was nothing he could do to stop it.
“I sat there and it became memes, with photoshop and t-shirts, and I thought, “I have to put this somewhere.” Then I read the dream script and thought, “Yeah, now I can turn this into gold!”“
The film also stars Michael Cera and Julianne Nicholson.
Dream Scenario opens in theaters in the US on November 10. The film does not yet have a release date in France.
