The municipal Department of Water and Sewerage (DMAE) has scheduled services for next week that will affect the water supply in some neighborhoods of the capital. According to the municipality, the services aim to improve the city’s water network. Also according to the DMAE, the program could undergo variations for technical or meteorological reasons. After prolonged stops, the return of the water could change color and flavor due to the entrainment of microparticles that are not harmful to health, which may be found on the internal walls of the pipe. If the normal appearance of the water takes some time to return, the customer can request washing from the mains or home branch by calling 156, option 2.

Tuesday 12 September
– Replacement of the register in Ascenção street: the replacement of the register will be carried out to allow the isolation of the Ascenção reservoir for subsequent maintenance. Supply will be interrupted from 6am to the Glória and Coronel Aparício Borges neighbourhoods, with normalization expected during the night, which may take longer at the high and distant ends of the network.
Wednesday 13 September
– Replacement of the transformer of the Treated Water Pumping Station (Ebat) Restinga II: the transformer of the Ebat Restinga II, on João Antônio Silveira street, 2,603, will be replaced due to an oil leak.
– Repair of leaks in the water network: still on João Antônio Silveira road, in another point, at number 7.353, a leak will be repaired in the push water network (which brings water to the tank/station) of the Pitinga/Panorama reservoir. The provision of services will be interrupted from 6 am in the neighborhoods of Extrema, Lageado, Lami, Lomba do Pinheiro, Restinga, Pitinga and São Caetano, which are expected to return to normal in the early evening.
– Replacement of the drainage register of the water main: in Avenida Juca Batista, 2.918, the drainage register of the drainage pipe of the Ebat Santa Rita will be replaced. Supply will be interrupted from 8am to the neighborhoods of Aberta dos Morros and Campo Novo, expected to return to normal overnight, and may take longer at the high and distant ends of the network.
