Lula changes ministers, but the leaders of Caixa and Funasa and the name of the ministry remain to be defined

The president has not yet launched the hammer on the new spaces of the PP and the Republicans, such as the command of state companies, and on the fate of taxation on sports betting

BRASÍLIA – The choice of deputies André Fufuca (PP-MA) e Silvio Costa Filho (Republicans-EP) as new ministers did not mean the end of the first ministerial reform carried out by the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). To complete the new government plan, the PT member still has to define the name of the ministry that will be created to welcome him Marcio Franca (PSB-SP) and designate the heads of the Caixa Economica Federal and from National Health Foundation (Funasa).

The PSD enters into conflict with the Republicans for the command of Funasa

On the other hand, Republican deputies still do not agree on joining the government. The party has 41 deputies and is facing internal problems caused by the recent awards given to Lula.

The deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), son of the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), said that the Republicans are “a party of the left.” The party’s president, Marcos Pereira, responded indirectly to the statement by saying, in an event in the Chamber, that he leads “the true conservative party”.

The PP de Lira should maintain the Caixa and sports betting taxes

The change in command of the Caixa Econômica Federal also remains to be defined, which should pass to the PP as happened with the Ministry of Sport. The party’s preferred name is that of the former federal deputy Margherita Coelho (PP-PI) – close to the Speaker of the House Arthur Lira (PP-AL). However, employees of the state-owned company view this with reservations.
