Barbie is ready to visit your Mojo Dojo Casa House! Directed by Greta Gerwig, this comedy stars Margot Robbie as the iconic Mattel doll. Starting Tuesday, September 12, the film will be available to rent or purchase to watch in the comfort of your own home.
The most successful film of 2023, which grossed an impressive $1.4 billion worldwide, focuses on the so-called “stereotypical Barbie” (played by Margot Robbie) as she reflects on her existence and ventures into real world, accompanied by Ken (Ryan Gosling).
Barbie is now available in the catalogs of Google Play, iTunes, Microsoft Store, Claro TV+ and Prime Video Store, with prices ranging from R$49.90 for rental to R$69.90 for digital purchase.
According to David Zaslav, president of Warner Bros. Discovery, the film is expected to debut on HBO Max in 2023. An exact date has not yet been revealed.
Barbie It received a rating of not recommended for children under 12 years of age. The film explores deep themes such as the meaning of life and patriarchy. In a dance scene, Robbie’s character says, “Have you ever thought about dying?” There is also a degree of sexual innuendo, with Gosling’s Ken suggesting spending the night with the doll.

Robbie and Gosling lead the cast. Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Nicola Coughlan, Hari Nef, pop star Dua Lipa and many others play other Barbies, while Simu Liu and Kingsley Ben-Adir are among the various Kens. Emerald Fennell and Michael Cera play the now-discontinued dolls Midge and Allan, respectively. America Ferrera and Will Ferrell round out the cast as human characters.
