Bill Pullman’s son is on top: Maverick, revealed the Independence Day advice his dad gave him

the events of Top Gun: Maverick see Tom Cruise’s Pete “Maverick” Mitchell training a group of young pilots for a dangerous mission. One such pilot is the quiet but extremely capable Lieutenant Robert “Bob” Floyd, played by Lewis Pullman, the son of Bill Pullman, who spent time in the cockpit playing President Thomas Whitmore in Independence Day (title for which it is partly responsible). In fact, Major Pullman gave his son some advice regarding the 1996 sci-fi action movie after learning that Lewis would appear in Dissident.

It has been a long wait Top Gun: Maverick as the film was supposed to be released in the summer of 2019, but due to various factors (including the COVID-19 pandemic), it wasn’t released widely until May 27. But now the public can see the rest. which came 36 years after its predecessor, albeit when Lewis Pullman, star of the next sales lot redo, talk to THR, his father was not yet a part of it. In the Dissident stellar words:

He hasn’t seen it yet, but I can’t wait for him to see it. At the moment, he’s working on a show, rehearsing. I always direct everything for him before starting a job, and he always gives me the gold. He used a green screen on Independence Day, but he gave great movement advice to really convey the physicality of what’s going on. First, he offered to make sure this character felt real and down to earth and absorbed everything from real-life pilots to Top Gun so he could do justice to what they do justice.

In case you didn’t follow him Top Gun: MaverickDuring development, Lewis Pullman and the other actors who played the pilots in the film learned how to fly fighter jets from Tom Cruise. It’s a big step up from simulating a plane flying with a green screen behind you, but presumably around this time Lewis Pullman informed Bill Pullman that he would be Dissident, the flight training had not yet started. So his heartwarming advice from him was probably welcome, as were his words about paying attention to Top Gun pilots and making sure Bob felt real and down to earth. Now we need to know when Bill Pullman (of which Independence Day the character helped thwart alien invasions in this film and the 2016 film Recurrence) he saw Dissident so we can hear your thoughts on this.

While his call may not have been as impressive as his fellow pilots, Lewis Pullman’s Bob has proven himself to be as skilled a flyer as Monica Barbaro’s WSO Natasha “Phoenix” Trace in Top Gun: Maverick. His fellow pilots, in addition to Tom Cruise’s Maverick as instructor, included Miles Teller’s Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw (son of the late Nick “Goose” Bradshaw, RIO and Maverick’s best friend), Jake “Hangman” Seresin of Glen Powell, Jay Ellis’ Reuben “Payback” Fitch and Danny Ramirez’s Mickey “Fanboy” Garcia. DissidentOther cast members include Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Ed Harris, Charles Parnell, and Val Kilmer. tron the inheritanceJoseph Kosinski directed the sequel, and Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer and Christopher McQuarrie worked on the script.

Two weeks after its theatrical release, Top Gun: Maverick is so far the fourth highest-grossing film of 2022 and among its box office hits are the highest-grossing Memorial Day opening weekend and becoming the highest-grossing Tom Cruise film in the country. Furthermore, Dissident received critical acclaim, including Gossipify’s Eric Eisenberg, who awarded it 4 out of 5 stars in his review.
