Anitta won MTV’s Video Music Awards (VMA) for the second time. The Brazilian artist was awarded in the Best Latin Video category for the video for “Funk Rave”, during the awards ceremony held on Tuesday evening (9/12) in New Jersey, USA.
In her acceptance speech, Anitta dedicated the victory to her fans, especially Brazilians and Mexicans. The singer, who had already received the same award in 2022 for the “Envolver” video, did not spare herself praise for her dedication to her career. She ultimately warned that international audiences will still hear a lot of Brazilian funk. “Brazilian funk is here to stay!” she exclaimed.

Presentations and musical news
In addition to being honored, Anitta energized the audience at the event with songs from her EP “Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story.” She performed a medley of “Funk Rave,” “Casi Casi” and “Used To Be,” and also took the opportunity to preview “Grip,” a new track that will be part of her upcoming album. The song contains a sample of the classic funk song “O Baile Todo (Só as Cachorras)”, by Bonde do Tigrão.
But Anitta still had more to offer the VMAs audience, returning to the stage once again, in the final part of the event, for a performance with South Korean group Tomorrow x Together, better known as TXT, expanding her presence on the world stage . .
