MTV VMA: Anitta wins Best Latin Music Video with ‘Funk Rave’


The Brazilian singer thanked her fans and herself for a lot of work: “You are listening to Brazilian funk and you will listen to much more, this is just the beginning!”

Singer Anita won the Best Latin Music Video category at the MTV Awards Video music awardswhich takes place in New Jersey, in the United States, on the night of Tuesday 12th. Competing with productions by great artists such as Shakira, Rosalie, Karol G AND Bad bunnythe Brazilian received the statuette for the hit ‘Funk Rave’ released in June this year.

“I can’t believe it. Brazil, we are here again. For the second time. Thanks to my fans, I would be nothing without them, I owe them everything I have. I really appreciate it!”, said Anitta in her speech, in to which she also thanked her record label, her team, her brother Renan and herself.

“I want to thank myself, because I worked hard! You are listening to Brazilian funk and you will listen to much more, this is just the beginning!”, she added.

Under the creative direction of the singer herself, the audiovisual production of the hit has reached more than 16 million views on the YouTube platform.

At the beginning of the event Anitta also presented a medley of The love story of the favela and a preview of a new song.
