Launched in October, the title surpassed five million units sold and achieved a prominent position in the history of the Pokémon Legends series.
Pokémon Legends: ZA was confirmed as one of the best-selling titles in the franchise Pokemonaccording to an announcement from The Pokémon Company.
In its launch week, the game sold more than 5.8 million copies worldwide, with a strong performance in physical sales, especially in the North American market.
Pokémon Legends: ZA just had the biggest launch of a physical video game in the US since 2023’s The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The success of Pokémon Legends: ZA is accompanied by other positive results: the game reached first place in the European charts in its opening week, surpassing other major releases. However, the growth rate was below the previous title in the Legends series, Arceus.
In the US, physical sales were the highest for a release since The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (2023). The numbers show that, even facing market challenges and perhaps lower initial appeal, Pokémon Legends: ZA confirmed the strength of the brand and maintained its status among the franchise’s highlights.
About the game
Pokémon Legends: Z–A is the continuation of Legends: Arceus (2022). The spin-off is set in the Paris-inspired city of Lumiose, which first appeared in X & Y (2013).
Here, instead of the traditional shift system, Legends: Z–A uses a real-time battle system. The game also brings back mega-evolutions, which haven’t been seen since Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (2014).
