Detective series continue to shine on Netflix. The great success of Chère petite, an adaptation of Romy Haussmann’s novel of the same name, proves once again that subscribers love crime stories.
Less than a week after its release, the program has already set a record for the best opening for international fiction released on a Thursday.
As stated Netflix & Figures Bulletin – which lists the platform’s audience every week – Chère petite has collected 10.2 million views in just 4 days. That’s more than The Nurse, a 4-episode Danish mini-series released in April 2023 that was viewed 9 million times.
Ranking of the top five starters for the international series:
dear baby : 10.2 million views
Nurse : 9 million views
The Empress: 8.3 million views
Dead Woman: 4.4 million views
Sleeping Dog: 4.4 million views
The series is currently in the top 10 in more than 84 countries, including France, where it ranks first. Such success may encourage Netflix to produce a sequel, but it is unlikely that a second season will see the light of day. Adapted from the book, Dear Little was created as a mini-series ending at the end of the sixth episode.
The story tells about the escape of a woman named Lena and her daughter Hannah, who is being held captive by a man. While they are in the hands of the police, an investigation begins to find out what really happened and who is behind the kidnapping.
Dear Little is available on Netflix.
