Diamond Films released the first trailer for on Tuesday (12th). BlackBarrya feature film inspired by the true and untold story of the most famous smartphone of the 2000s. The film premiered at the 2023 Berlin Film Festival and will be released in Brazilian cinemas on October 12.
According to the synopsis, BlackBarry reveals how the technology created by Mike Lazaridis (Jay Baruchel) and his best friend, Douglas Fregin (Matt Johnson), combined with the money and expertise of businessman Jim Balsillie (Glen Howerton), has completely transformed the way we communicate. The group saw the company’s value soar, but within a few years dark secrets, personal disputes and, the greatest danger of all, the arrival of the iPhone, had dissipated the company’s success.
The BlackBerry was a line of smartphones and tablets created by the Canadian company of the same name (formerly Research in Motion). The brand’s devices were known for their focus on the enterprise market. Mobile phone production ended in 2016, with the company focusing solely on software development.
Blackbarry will be released in Brazilian cinemas on October 12th.
