Barbie is on track for 6 million downloads in France, and Oppenheimer has already surpassed 4 million. But which other movies were hits?
Here are the top 10 movies released between June 14 and September 13, 2023*

Successes that leave superheroes in the dust somewhere… Excitement, the only other superhero movie released this summer, only came in at No. 8. For the record, as we talk about on our podcast, The Marvels was originally supposed to come out this summer and ended up being pushed to fall on November 8, 2023.

Indiana Jones 5 Ranked 4th, but includes less than 4 episodes. Miss Impossible 7 is just behind the franchise in scoring average.
There are two French films in this top ten: A miracle worker, the spin-off from the hit animated series and the Palme d’Or, which takes 10th place, already has 800,000 entries at the time of writing. Big luck for that Anatomy of a Fall by Justin Triet, which continues to rally as it topped the French box office this week.

As for French cinema, let’s mention the sensation and surprise of Quentin Dupierre Yannick. Raphael Cuenard has become the favorite actor of this summer. Yannick became filmmaker Quentin Dupierre’s biggest hit to date with nearly 400,000 admissions, ahead of The Incredibles But Real (318,000 admissions).

On the surprise side, in this non-exhaustive evaluation is the drawing of Frédéric Mermud’s La Voie Royale, described as a “summer sleeper” (a film that guarantees great longevity).
