Tonight on Netflix: Matrix-worthy battles and Kill Bill in this crazy kung fu movie!

Are you a fan of martial arts movies? Do you love Bruce Lee and Tex Avery? Do you like it when things go in all directions and when cinema is generous? Then Steven Chow’s Incredible Crazy Kung Fu is what you need! Good news: This completely insane action comedy is available on Netflix.

Released in theaters in 2004, Crazy kung-fu combines all genres, from pure martial arts films to musicals, including westerns and wild cartoon moments. An incredible mix that makes these aliens full of imagination and energy, both unique and irresistible. I promise, you’ve rarely seen this on screen!

A hugely popular entertainer, Mad Kung Fu tells the story of Singh (Stephen Chow), a would-be gangster who must overcome his inability to wield a sword and prove that he has what it takes to join the prestigious Ax gang. At the same time, this gang wants to reign supreme on the holy street…

After the surprise success of his previous film, Shaolin Soccer, director Stephen Chow had to make a change. “What was I going to do next?”he asked himself after this great success. “The answer was simple: since childhood I wanted to become a martial arts expert, a kung fu hero… at least on the screen!” He made his dream come true in a very beautiful way: his crazy kung-fu, which belongs to him alone, is a beautiful, sincere and successful declaration of love for the martial arts films that immersed his youth.

Crazy Kung Fu was very difficult to shoot because it involved a lot of action scenes and because it took four months, which is a lot for a film produced in Hong Kong. “It’s the most physically demanding film I’ve ever done.”– says Stephen Chow. “I’ve done more martial arts than any other film. This is the shoot that required the most work. I’ve never gone this far and I’ve never done it. It was so hard!”

To create his crazy kung fu action scenes, Stephen Chow was surrounded by a true master of the field: Yuen Wu-ping, to whom we owe the choreography of many classic sequences, including The Matrix, Kill Bill and Tiger. And the dragon… The result of this collaboration, quite incredible, can be quickly discovered on Netflix.
