When we talk about technology-focused companies, maintaining an organized work pace is even more important. Typically, in this type of company, professionals are faced with projects of great technical complexity, in addition to the fast pace of work and innovation, which is why the manager needs to know the business well and know how to correctly direct service flows.
According to a recent survey by the Brazilian Association of Information Technology Companies (Assespro-PR), the number of IT companies created between 2012 and 2021 tripled in Brazil, going from 13.4 thousand new companies created in 2012 to 36 ,9 thousand in 2022. To survive in a competitive market, a company needs to plan its steps and know how to organize its different areas.
See five recommendations for organizing a company to maintain healthy development.
1. Know the market niche
IT companies are not the same, it is common to place them all in the same segment. There are companies that develop technologies for human resources, others that work with innovations for the medical field, there are still those that serve industries or specialists in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics.
It is essential to know your target audience and the product you are developing well in order to think about how to organize the departments to obtain the best results from your employees.
2. Focus on project management
Regardless of the niche an IT company operates in, having a structured project management department is one of the first steps towards good organization within the company.
Large IT companies often work with software development projects, system implementation, or custom services, and it is essential to have an organized engineering department to meet deadlines and meet customer expectations.
3. Data security
When thinking about the organization of IT sectors, the manager must devote more time to data security. There is a lot of confidential information of both the company and customers stored in databases, so attention to data management and security must be a constant concern.
The ideal is to hire a team with experience in cybersecurity and, if necessary, use the services of external consultancy.
4. Interdisciplinary collaboration
In IT companies there is a diversity of professionals working together, in addition to technology professionals there are others such as human resources, administration, marketing.
An adequate organization facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration between employees and the manager must invest in an integrated approach to solve problems and achieve common goals.

5. Communication flow
The leader of an IT company must establish a clear communication policy, communicating changes to projects, team structure and providing feedback to employees on the results.
Ideally, the CEO should hold frequent meetings with department managers and the entire team to listen to suggestions and exchange ideas with people.
