The scandal of players involved in sports betting manipulation opened another chapter this Monday (18). The president of the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD), José Perdiz de Jesus, has scheduled the trial of 12 players targeted by the Goiás Public Prosecutor’s maximum penalty investigation for Thursday 28 September.
The evaluation will take place in a hybrid format in a room reserved for the COB EXPO event, which will be held at Av. Professora Ida Kolb, number 513, in Jardim das Laranjeiras, São Paulo, and will start at 1pm (Brasilia time ). Check out the 12 players who will be judged next Thursday below:

In early August, the STJD ordered a 30-day suspension seven players who became defendants in the third complaint of Operation Maximum Penalty: Alef Manga (ex-Coritiba), Dadá Belmonte (América-MG), Igor Carius (Sport), Jesus Trindade (ex-Coritiba), Pedrinho (ex-Athletico), Sidcley (ex-Cuiabá) and Thonny Anderson (ex- Coritiba). All eliminated will be judged on Thursday (28) by the STJD to determine the sanctions that will be applied to each.
MAXIMUM CRIMINAL OPERATION
Operation Maximum Punishment is conducted by the Goiás Public Prosecutor’s Office and investigates the sports betting mafia in Brazilian football. The scandal involving the players came to light in February this year and investigations were soon launched, covering both Serie B and Serie A matches of the Brazilian league.
