Olivia Rodrigo’s second album, “Guts”, debuted as the best-selling in the United States, with the equivalent of 302 thousand copies sold and almost 100 million streams. This feat marks the fourth-largest opening week for any album in 2023 and surpasses the release of the singer’s debut album, “Sour,” which sold 295,000 copies in its first week and spent a total of five weeks as the leader in 2021.
The singer is also simultaneously topping the song and album charts with her latest release. “Vampire,” the first single from “Guts,” released in June, returned to the top of the singles chart at No. 1 with 23 million streams, according to data provided by Luminate. All 12 songs charted in the top 40 of the Hot 100, with “Bad Idea Right?” follows “Vampire” in seventh position.
The success of the album comes immediately after the singer’s announcement of a world tour, scheduled to start in February 2024.
