Once: Discover the captains program in the cinema from September 20! It consists of 2 animated films.
The first, titled Moules-Frites and signed by Nicolas Hu, tells the story of Noé, a 9-year-old girl who comes to join her mother, who has recently settled on a Breton island. When he discovers that all the local kids are swimming, Noah wants to join them. But his mother can’t afford to join the club…
The second, Les Astres immobiles, is directed by Noemi Gruner and Selena Piquet. It immerses us in the daily life of 9-year-old Chenghua, who is preparing for a presentation on space with her best friend. However, he does not find the necessary time to move forward with this project, as he is constantly asked to act as a translator by his parents, who do not speak French.
Courage. That’s what it will take for our two heroes to break down barriers and move forward in this fabulous adventure that is life!
What they love: Captains! paints a portrait of two strong and determined little girls that many young viewers can easily relate to, especially at the beginning of the school year.
Noah, who has just arrived in a new place where he doesn’t know anyone, is trying to make friends his own age. Sailing, which is practiced by many of his comrades, is for him an ideal activity for successful integration.
Chenghua, on the other hand, is a child with boundless imagination, fascinated by space and astronaut Thomas Pesquet. An interest he especially shares with his best friend Sofia, with whom he is working on a presentation for school.

Unfortunately, Noah and Chenghua both face difficulties beyond their control, whether it’s a social barrier for the former, who can’t join the club due to the exorbitant registration fee, or a cultural one for the latter, who has to help. His parents who don’t speak the language everyday.
Each in their own way, these two heroes must overcome the obstacles that stand in their way. With great tenderness and emotion, captains! It tells about the efforts and perseverance of these two little girls, who did not spare their lives. These two extremely exciting stories will not leave children and their parents indifferent.
The stories of Noah and Chenghua are also enhanced by two simply excellent animation styles. Let yourself be amazed by the watercolor decoration of Moules-Frites and the pencil-drawn aesthetic of the motionless stars!

What might be bothering them: Noah’s mother’s financial difficulties may upset young viewers, as can the loneliness of the little girl at first. The cause of concern may be Chenghua’s frustration with the situation with her parents. Still, the two films bring a real message of hope that should comfort them!
What they will keep deep: This program is primarily about two stories that emphasize the importance of your passion, whatever it may be, to believe in it and not to let yourself be defeated in the face of adversity. There is always a solution or an alternative, even if it sometimes takes a while to find it.
Courage and perseverance are the keywords of these shocking films, which should be in theaters today in the Captains! program.
