Peaky Blinders: discover the cast, the synopsis and where to watch it
The title and story of the series are based on those of a real gang, which existed in England, called the Peaky Blinders, and whose activity lasted from 1890 to 1910 in the city of Birmingham. The narrative of the series, however, is set in the 1919s and stars Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby.
Thomas is the leader of the gang and has the main objective of making his way in life at any cost, even if to do so he will have to exercise total control over other people and trample on other people’s rights. The Shelby family then begins to dominate several illegal businesses in the city, such as firearms sales, horse racing, and even scams.
The criminal interests of this family clash with the law again when Inspector Chester Campbell is sent to Birmingham to investigate the diversion of firearms, intended for the English army and illegally acquired by the gang.

The series’ narrative explores the hardships of the big city after the end of World War I, the growth and popularization of illegal businesses, social inequalities, and urban warfare waged by gangs and police.
The cast also includes names like Sam Neil, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson and Tom Hardy. The series was originally launched in 2013 by broadcaster BCC, but became part of a partnership with Netflix. This way you can find it directly on the Netflix streaming platform. The story totaled six seasons until its final episode in 2022. Check out the season 1 teaser below:
