Actress Mariana Xavier, known as the daughter of “Minha Mãe É uma Peça”, and former BBB Viih Tube will play the sisters in “Doce Família”, a new comedy for Brazilian cinemas.
The production will be Viih Tube’s third feature film, which is an “actress with DRT”, in reference to the registration required to practice the profession. She produced her debut, “Amiga do Enimigo” (2020), released only in streaming, and she also appeared in “Me Tira da Mira” (2022).
Mariana Xavier has twice as many films on her resume, but “Doce Família” will mark her debut as a protagonist. In her storyline, she will play a successful baker who will start doing crazy things to lose weight and be able to get married in the same dress used by her mother many years before her.
Viih Tube’s character, in turn, works with her mother in a slimming clinic and will try to help her sister, committing several exaggerations.
“I’ve already experienced a lot of the crazy things that are going to happen in the film. I’ve already undergone very crazy things to lose weight. I’ve already taken all the bullshit you can imagine,” said Mariana Xavier.
The film was written by Carol Garcia (“Bom Dia, Verônica”), with advice from Camila Agustini (“As Seguidoras”), directed by Carolina Durão (“Ferdinando Show”), and its cast also features Maria Padilha (“The Honest Candidata 2”) as mother and Karina Ramil (“Boca de Ouro”) as third sister of Mariana Xavier and Viih Tube.
The feature film is produced by Glaz and Grupo Telefilms and produced and distributed by Galeria Distribuidora.
