Intel Core i9-14900KF breaks record in single-core PassMark test

New tests in the PassMark benchmark indicate that the Intel Core i9-14900KF would have the best single-core result among all tested models

The Intel Core i9-14900KF was once again found in a benchmark database. This time, the results recorded by PassMark indicate that the high-end processor of the 14th generation of Raptor Lake Refresh processors has the best single-core performance among all those tested to date.

The CPU scored 4,939 points, besting the i9-13900KS by about 3%. In the comparison with the Core i9-13900KF, the direct predecessor of the 13th generation, there is a difference of almost 6%.

Although the numbers are not that expressive, this subtle increase in percentage can be explained by the addition of 200 MHz to the Raptor Lake Refresh frequencies. The Core i9-14900KF should arrive on the market with the same 24 cores (8+16) as the previous generation, a base clock of 3.2 Ghz and a boost of around 6.0 Ghz.

The 14th generation may have higher prices

After months of negative rumors about these processors, the 14th generation scenario now seems more positive. Recent Geekbench 6 leaks they suggest that the Raptor Lake Refresh are between 13% and 15% better than the previous generation, respecting an acceptable generation gap.

However, price could be an issue for Apple’s new CPU family. Intel. While the Core i9-13900KF launched for $564 (around R$2,700 in direct conversion) in 2022, the Core i9-14900KF could launch for more than $600.

It is worth mentioning that these processors are speculated to receive an official announcement during Intel Innovation 2023, which took place this week. However, Intel only revealed the Meteor Lake CPU for notebooks and presented the planning more processors for the next few yearsnot to mention these models.

Rumors indicate that Intel Raptor Lake Refresh is expected to launch on October 17.
