As Total Film recalls, one of their songs, “In the Room Where You Sleep,” is played during a scene early in the film in which paranormal investigator duo Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) team up. They were called by the Perron family, who suspected paranormal activity in their new home, especially after the unexplained death of their dog.

Ryan Gosling and friend Zach Shields formed the band Dead Man’s Bones in 2007 over a mutual fascination with the Haunted House, a Disney park ride. Their musical production focuses on ghosts and monsters, making it a fitting addition to a horror movie soundtrack. Their self-titled album, released in 2009, contains the title track.
This is not the only time we have heard the band’s music in a movie or TV series. Their song “Lose Your Soul” was used in the TV series Teen Wolf in 2011, as well as the theme music for the French film The Battle of Solferino in 2013.
