While Leonardo DiCaprio has excelled in many cinematic genres, there is one world he has never ventured into: the world of superheroes. However, the American actor, who recently talked about his worst movie, could have traveled there ten years ago!
Leonardo DiCaprio could once play one of the main roles in Batman Forever, as well as play one of Batman’s most famous adversaries in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises. It was David S. Goyer, one of the film’s screenwriters, who recently revealed it Happy Sad Confused Podcast.
“I remember this at the premiere Dark KnightThe head of Warner Bros. said, “You should make a movie with The Riddler. You need Leonardo DiCaprio to play the Riddler.”says David S. Goyer. “But that’s not how we worked.”
Famous “Way to Work” David S. One of the studios mentioned by Goyer had to choose a villain and then articulate the film’s plot around him. It is the complete opposite of the method used Christopher Nolanwho wanted to focus on Batman’s journey first and then assign an adversary that fit the story perfectly.
So, in The Dark Knight Rises, the bad guy isn’t the Riddler (played on screen by Jim Carrey in Batman Forever and Paul Dano in The Batman), but the impressive Bane, who Tom Hardy lends his features to.
Come out, then, DiCaprio’s name. It should be noted, however, that if “Leo” didn’t play the Riddler in front of Christopher Nolan’s camera, that didn’t stop him from joining the director soon after for Inception.
Leonardo DiCaprio fans will soon find him in Martin Scorsese’s new film Killers of the Flower Moon in theaters on October 18th.
